Ila: Illai ma. Was sitting and preparing notes for tommorow's meeting.

Ila: Un akkarai puriyuthu. But enna panna..its a very important meeting tommorow. That's why.

Ila and Nila are software engineers working for different companies in Tidel Park. They have been engaged a few months back.


Its 12:30 PM and Ila calls up Nila on her extension.

Ila: Hey, Food courtla lunch pogalama?
Nila: Illa da. Konjam tight work irukku. I have an important delivery today. Onsite co-ordinator is already eating my head.You go ahead.
Ila: Sappidama odamba keduthukathey. Health is more important than anything in life. See you in the evening.
Nila: Ok da. I dont know how long this is going to take me.. Take care.

Ila goes to the food court below and stands in the queue to be served. Hears a hi from his back. To his surprise sees Radhika his college mate at engineering.

Ila: Rads!!! What a surprise.. Nee engey inge?
Rads: I am working for pqr softwares. How are you? Nee abc solutionsla velai seyyariya?
Ila: Yes da. Eppadi unakku theriyum?
Rads: Dai un pattaya kelattama suthikittu iruntha ellarukkum thaan theriyum. Friends kooda vanthirukiya?
Ila:Hee.Hee..Illa da, why dont you join me for lunch if you are alone?

Both sits and starts conversing very interestingly. Meanwhile, After 20 mins, A call from the onsite co-ordinator frees her up. She decides to join Ila as a surprise. Comes to the food court and sees him conversing with some one. Thinking it might be some HR person of his company, tries waving at him. No reply..

That Night Ila calls her.

Ila: Hello ma, Enna pannarey.
Nila: Hmm..Ennai pathi ippovavathu yosikkanumnnu ayyavukku thoniche..
Ila: (Senses trouble). Unnai thaan naal muzhukka ninaichukittu irukkene.. Marantha thane yousikkanum.. (Thinks his first bucket of water would put off the flame).

Been pondering on trying a series similar to Hum Tum ever since i saw that movie (by the way, its one of my favorite Hindi Movie). So there it goes... The Ila-Nila Series..

Ilangovan (Ila) and Nilamathy (Nila) are engaged and are the usual Software consultants.

Ila's phone rings when he is shortly to go into his weekly status meeting.

Ila: Solluma.
Nila: Hey, Busya.
Ila: Ahem, Not very busy..Yenna matter..Ethavathu important thing?
Nila: Illai, Innikku en roommate ava friend receptionukku pora...So..was wondering if you are free in the evening
Ila: (very excited)..Naan freethaan..Sollu..
Nila: Was wondering if we could meet up and go for a movie and have dinner together..
Ila: (much less excited).. Haan..Meet pannalame..Its been long we saw each other.. (clearly forgetting that they bumped into each other at Spencers yesterday)..Nee Sathyamkku 6 Pm vanthiru.. We will go to some movie.. Do you have any particular movie in mind?
Nila: Illada..Anything would do to kill time..
Ila: No Problems..See you at 6.
Nila: See you..
Ila plsns to leave work early at 5 and go to the theatre..But luck would have it..He ends up with some urgent work from boss and reaches theatre only at 6:30. Calls up Nila.

Ila: Ennama..Yenge irukke..I cant see you in the crowd here..
Nila: Illai da..I had some urgent last minute work. So could not make it on time.. Ticket vangitiya? Padam Pottacha?
Ila: Athellam eppavo vangiyatchu.. Padam pottachu..No problem i will wait for you..

He hurriedly rushes to the counter and finds that all movies tickts are already sold out. Bugger, Was wondering what to do to cover up his face. He notices that the counter for a new english movie is still on.. Thanks all his lucky stars and buys 2 tickets for "Hostel 2".

Ila: (Thinks..Peyara partha..American Pie mathiri Comedy padam pola irukku.. He thinks of picturisation of Mala,Mala,Marutha mala song..We are going to have a good laugh today. That will set the setting for the dinner today)

Nila meanwhile jumps out of the auto and rushes towards him.

Nila: Sorry da.. Konjam late ayiduchu.. Enna padam vangi irukke?
Ila: Parthu vaama..vizha kizha porey.. Hostel 2 nu new film. En friend kooda nerthikku parthu sonnan. Very nice comedy movie da.. Definitely to be seen appadinnu.Seri seri vaa pogalam.

The movie has started..The hall is not even 10% filled. So they take up a better row. After sometime they realise that the movie not even remotely has comedy.

Nila: Dai, You know very well illaya how scared i am of horror movies..Why did you wanna play your stupid games with me.
Ila: (Realising there is no escape). Illai maa..That stupid Satish..He only led me into this..Anyways if you see the theatre is not even remotely filled. Lets ignore the movie and spend time talking..You get good A/C effect to escape the anal katthu outside. he he he..
Nila: This movies is getting on my nerves..Please let us leave now..

An interesting killer scene come up then..

Ila: Ok ma.. We will go just after seeing this scene..Looks very interesting da..please da..
Nila: I am leaving..Unakku ishtam iruntha vaa.Illai..See the movie and then come later.. I will go home. (She leaves immediately followed by Ila..)

Outside the hall..

Ila: Shall we go to City Center to kill some time before going to dinner? Beach is very crowded da..Pasanga yaravathu parthangana.. Nalaikku ottiduvanga..
Nila: Hmm..

Both go in Ila's Bike...

Ila: Yenna onnum pesave matengara..
Nila: Hmm..
Ila: Ennama atchu? Sorry. It was all because of that Satish fellow..
Nila: I feel very bad.. You wanted to see the movie no..

By then they have reached the City center and going inside..

Ila: Appadi ellam illa ma.. Dont worry..Antha padam enakku perusa onnum pidikalai..

Nila: Illai..Atleast i should have let you see that scene and then come out la..I feel very bad..
Ila: Athukenna ma.. I will see it with my friends tommorowla..

Nila: Appo nalaikku parkara program irukarathu naala thaan you came out immediatelyaa?? (and walks into Landmark in a hurry)

Ila: ????

(He sees the discounted books rack..Right in front of him sees the "Men are from Mars.." book)
