Peter Tamils...
See this interesting clip on a group of tamils putting peter...
For those non-chennai guys 'Peter Putting...' is a slang for guys who behave as if they were born and brought up in America when they would have not seen anything other than Aminjikarai...

Really a nice clip to see and enjoy.. Dont forget to keep your speakers on...

Thavamai Thavamirunthu
Saw this movie this week. This should impress any normal tamil film viewer who does not come to see the movie with any preset notions. This has no comedy tracks & no masala songs.

I could see a lot of similarities to his previous movie Autograph. This story also takes the flash back route. He seems to realize that this is his strength and he is building on it.
Like any of Cheran's movies he strikes where other movie makers have not touched much upon. We would have seen countless number of tamil talking on the greatness of the mother.

Cheran in this movie takes a different route in portraying the hardships faced by a poor father who wants to give his son the best education for his sons. He even goes to the extent of borrowing money heavily for their education. What i like the most about cheran in this is that he does not portray any heroic deed for his character. There are but few scenes in the movies which test your patience a bit.

I should say the hero of the movies is not Cheran but is Rajkiran who plays the role of the Father. I wish gets the National award for his role.I should say this should be his career best after the role in Pandavar Bhoomi & Nanda. Saranya as his wife has done well too though she has been shadowed heavily by Rajkiran's acting. The newcomer Padmapriya is also done an excellent job for her first movie.

Cheran i am sure has done a lot of home work in picking up all the characters including the ones with a minor role like the first daughter-in-law. She fits the role to a T. Another interesting change i noticed in this movie is that all flashbacks are in colour and the present is in black and white mostly. Though the Music directors Sabesh-Murali have put a decent show, i wish movies like this require the decoration of Maestro Illayaraja.

I wish this movie gets the same or better response that Autograph had. Heard that the movie has been awarded with 53 points in Anada vikadan.

Thavamai Thavamirunthu means 'a long wait' in tamil. I know it was a long wait for Cheran & his team to complete it (an evident hardwork is seen). I hope it is not the same for the viewer to see that 'The End' put.
