Easter trip to Wales - Day 3
Tired after the long trek, we had a very sound sleep.. As usual Kamesh got up late and the saga continued similar to yesterday :-).

We were happy that there was no trekking today (at least that was what we thought). Had our breakfast at the farmhouse and boarded the van for today's outing.

At the farm

Our first stop was Pentre ifan. This was supposed to be an Ancient community burial ground (35th century BC).

The next stop was St Goven's Chapel, whare a ancient saint was to have had his hermit. This place was supposed to have been attacked by pirates often and the rocks in the chapel would open and close around him to hide him from the pirates. We need to go to the chapel through a steep flight of stone as steps.Legend has it that the number counted going down never matches the number reached on the way back. We did count the steps and surprisingly (well.actually not..) they seemed to match. Kamesh, Rajesh and me went further from the chapel to the rocks. Others preferred to restrict themselves to the Chapel. After climbing back from the Chapel,we then had our first round of sandwiches made ready.

We then started a 2 hour trek to the Pembrokshire national park from here passing through a military firing range (i had for safety sake asked Dan what to say in Welsh if we find a group of men with guns in front of us :0) ). The trek was very scenic and we passed through 2 hills and a beach in between these 2 hills to arrive at another beach. Dan and Claire had meanwhile come over there in their van. We then dumped our things and off we went ot the water only to rush back to the shore. No no not because the water was dirty (infact it was very clean)..but because it was freezing cold. Very surprised that though the weater was very sunny, the water was chill. We then sat in the beach chatting for sometime watching others play beach cricket with their kids. Another short walk from there up a hill and down and we had the van parked ready to leave.

Off we went to a Fishing village called Tenby. We were scheduled to be only for a quick visit hence had to hurry a bit. We went through the Tenby market and bought some sovenuirs. Next we headed to the harbour and up we went the castle hill. The Tenby Castle has just one tower surviving and a statue of prince albert. Claire told us that this town used be very famous for stag and hen parties. Now the pubs in a bid to remove that image of the town have stopped bookings for stag or hen parties. There was another interesting market where there were lots of food stalls put up by people of origin from different countries. We bought some cookies from a french lady. They were plain yummy and rich. Got into the van and off we went towards our dwelling.

Reached the farm and thanks to spring, we were still having a bit of daylight left. We guys were hanging around the farm after freshening up quick. Saw and shot some amazing photos of sunset. Dan and Claire meanwhile were busy cooking our dinner. For the vegetarians amonst us it was a "Curry Night". Once the curry was done, Kamesh and me did the tasting, while Claire waited like an nervous child awaiting its marksheet. The curry was fantastic and she infact had done far better than what we expected. So all the tripmates got to the dining table to have our last dinner of the trip together.

The Curry night (our last dinner together in the trip)

After the dinner we went to a traditional welsh speaking pub called the "Fisher's Arm" which was around 5 minutes drive from the farm. Spent some quality time there having a nice laugh and playing snooker. Back in the farm we had the usual rounds of playing cards in our room and crashed to bed. zzzzz...
